Fiska Design & Build Setting Up @ Grand Designs Live (ExCel London) Look for stand B21a

Big massive thanks to The South Bank Centre, Scout and RARA for allowing us to use the remains of the these POW's (Points of Welcome), or Way Finding stations which had been exhibits last year at The South Bank Centre.

We struggled initially, trying to make sure we had enough limbs and cross members. Today we are pleased to have resurrected the last half breed of these fantastic sculptures. Albeit, slightly amputated to fit in the 3x3m stand (B21a, if your visiting). With a leg devoted to the story behind the POW's and what better place than at the ExCel Centre.

The request was simply to use the limbs for the collaborative display of Fiska Design and Build and Seesaw Studio's work. More often than not these things become one sided, but hey, you start as you mean to go on. :)

Check out where Fiska first helped to get these POW's erected, information and pictures of which you will find in our Portfilio, Equally, scroll down the BLOG to find the easier 'way' ;).

Fiska have just started a project in Clapton. The project involves removing the spine wall to a Victorian mid-terraced house. The Client is currently waiting for planning permission to create a light-well for the basement level at the front of the property. Drawings have been prepared by SEG Architecture.

The project duration should be for a couple of months with a deadline of Christmas Eve.

Watch this space.

Keith's Property in Mile End

Imtiaz was called by an old friend from college. The request from his friend, Keith, was to refurbish one of many flats that Keith owns.

The project has the potential to be relatively straight forward with the only exception that Keith wanted to conduct most of the work himself. Imtiaz offered Fiska's resources and we went ahead. Complete with success.

I was invited to watch the Olympic equestrian from the 1st floor of a project Fiska's currently finishing off. We had front row seats of Greenwich Park with the Equestrians in full view.

Unfortunately for me, I had to attend to Fiska's next project in Bow where we are currently conducting demolition work. ..... Well, Someone's got to do it.

Meeting with Plat-Form - Euston

6/7/2012

Picture
Just had a meeting today with Graeme from Plat-form to discuss our collaboration on project in Euston.

We are currently at feasibility stage of the project. We are offering the 'client' a unique project specific partnering solution where cost planning and estimating are conducted from the outset of Plat-forms work.

This unique method of working enables the 'client' to have estimated build cost form the outset of the design stages. This allows the client to make informed decisions on how to proceed in the following stages. This method of working benefits all professionals involved as all the 'heads' of the construction process are brought together from the outset enhancing the process and minimising risk.

The best bit about Project specific partnering route is that the fees stay the same.
