Brief
The project brief started off as a Insurance job because of a burst pipe which buckled the existing flooring. Margaret decided that while we were there we should install a new Kitchen to replace the tired 'contract' kitchen which had been installed when the property had been refurbished previously.

The title of this project refers to 'mistakes' which came about due to trying to attain a consistent finish for the Hardwood flooring. After laying unfinished Grade B engineered Oak flooring the task to stain the floor was in hand until we managed to achieve a finish which was far from uniform. With the realisation that trying to sand off an ebony stain was an impossible task we decided to leave the ebony saturated grain and restain which to our surprise was to create an amazing finish giving the Oak a depth unlike any other floor readily available off the shelf. An expensive mistake but well worth it i'm sure you will agree?
